On Facebook the other day I said I owe you an email. I wanted to tell you how I signed up for anthropology completely by mistake ( a most embarrassing misunderstanding). I wondered (late, frazzled) into that lecture hall completely unawares of what wonders were in store for me. Your lectures on slavery and the diaspora were so inspiring, so mind-shifting, they completely changed my life.
